The Toronto Maple Leafs continue their Western road trip tonight as they take on the Seattle Kraken, a team they have historically dominated. Since Seattle entered the NHL, Toronto has owned the matchup, posting a 6-1-0 record against the Kraken while outscoring them 29-17. Even more impressive, the Leafs are a perfect 3-0 in Seattle, with a commanding 14-3 goal differential in those games.

Both teams are looking to build momentum after shaky stretches of play. Toronto is coming off back-to-back wins following a rough home stand, while the Kraken have struggled under new head coach Dan Bylsma, sitting nine points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Key Storylines & Injury Updates

Mitch Marner (Questionable)
Marner missed the Leafs’ 6-3 win over Calgary due to a lower-body injury but is progressing well. Head coach Craig Berube provided an update:
“Actually good. He’ll be on the ice, and we’ll go from there. But I think he’s in a good spot. I think a good possibility he could play tomorrow.”

Anthony Stolarz Expected to Start
After missing time with an injury, Anthony Stolarz is likely to get the nod between the pipes. Berube said Stolarz is “getting to the point where he’s ready”, and this could be his return game.

Conor Timmins (Out)
Timmins suffered an upper-body injury after taking a nasty elbow from Yegor Sharangovich against Calgary. Although he finished the game, he will not play tonight.

💰 Anytime Goalscorer – Auston Matthews (-118)

Matthews has been a force against Seattle, tallying 13 points (7G, 6A) in 7 career games. He has been knocking on the door in recent games—expect him to break through tonight.

💰 Anytime Goalscorer – Jared McCann (+240)

McCann offers great value at +240, with 14 goals and 42 points this season. Running Seattle’s power play, he’ll get prime scoring opportunities.

💰 Player To Record 1+ Power-Play Points – Auston Matthews (+200)

Seattle ranks 22nd in the NHL in penalty killing, while the Leafs boast the 10th-ranked power play. At +200 odds, this is an excellent value bet.

Closing Thoughts

The Atlantic Division playoff race is heating up, and the Leafs need every point they can get. With first place in the division within reach, expect Toronto to play with urgency against a Seattle team that has struggled to find consistency.

Can the Leafs extend their dominance over the Kraken and inch closer to first place in the Atlantic? We’ll find out tonight in another late-night showdown for Leafs Nation.
